Our one week foundation course lays the groundwork for the essential kitchen skills required by any chef/cook agency. It also prepares you for life away from home (be it a gap year, uni or just moving off on your own)
Our foundation course has been designed to cover healthy basic cooking skills from Bread Making, Baking, Pastry, Preparation of Meat and Fish, including Filleting and Boning of Fish and Poultry. Cooking should be fun and by the end of the week, entertaining for your family and friends will no longer be a daunting event.
We will offer practical advice on budgeting and creating delicious food from cheap cuts to dinner party tips.
- All of our week courses are perfect for your Duke of Edinburgh residential component.
- If you want to work in a lodge or do a season in a chalet we have great links with agencies who will help you get to where you want to be.
The foundation course will teach you of all the basic meals you 'need to know.' After the week we would expect you to competently produce an impressive three course dinner party with canapés.
Accommodation is offered in our two beautiful country cottages and there are always members of staff on hand to help if needed. Young men and young ladies each have their own cottage and rooms are shared between two or three.
The course price includes all tuition, meals, accommodation and an official course certificate on succesful completion.
