Floristry Courses at Colstoun
Come and join us for a few hours of flowery fun on Colstoun Estate....
Our new Floristry Courses are led by Judy Reid of Judy Reid Flowers; as a Royal Warrant holder for HM Queen Elizabeth II she provides all the flowers at Holyrood and Balmoral when the Queen is in residence.
Judy inherited her love of plants and flowers from her Mother who taught her to identify and enjoy flowers growing in the wild. Rather than sand castles Judy made gardens on the seashore and this stood her in good stead when designing and making her real garden. This she did while bringing up 3 children and for a while being Chairman of Save The Children in Scotland.
She grew flowers to pick and dry and made them into arrangements for presents. Friends asked her to do flowers for weddings and that's how Judy Reid Flowers started.
Over time this developed into selling at Christmas Fairs, running workshops, designing and arranging fresh flowers for weddings and parties and being appointed to arrange flowers at the Palace of Holyrood House and occasionally Balmoral.
Judy is delighted to have been invited by Coulston to share her knowledge and enthusiasm
On the day, Judy will guide you through three hours of floral fun with plenty of hints and tips on cutting and selecting blooms. Using seasonal blooms and foliage foraged from Colstoun Estate you create a beautiful hand-tied bouquet to take home. A light lunch made from Colstoun produce is also included.
